Winter Farmers Market in Oak Ridge add to itinerary

From hand-roasted coffee to local produce, meat, eggs, cheese and more, the Winter Farmers Market, by Grow Oak Ridge LLC, will offer a brand new experience in Oak Ridge. The market is open each Saturday (closed Dec. 23 & 30) from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, bringing more than 40 local food and artisan vendors indoors in the Secret City. The market will be located in the gym at St. Mary's School gym, 323 Vermont Avenue, Oak Ridge.

5-County Norris Lake Clean-Up add to itinerary

Norris Lake is one of East Tennessee’s most loved recreation destinations, but the garbage that is constantly dumped in the lake is causing an eye sore. Therefore the five counties that contain Norris Lake have banned together to clean up the problem. The clean-up will take place on Saturday, March 24th. Clinch River Spring Antique Fair add to itinerary

The antique fair starts with a kick-off party on Friday, May 4th from 6 to 9 p.m. with musical entertainment. The shops on Market and Cullom Street will be open late and food vendors will be set up in Hoskins-Lane Park. On Saturday, May 5th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., over 100 exhibitors from East Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina and Ohio will offer a wide range of antiques and collectibles to suit every taste. Island Invasion Norris Lake Clean-up add to itinerary

The Norris Lake Project Team will be hosting an “Island Invasion” on September 22nd from 9 am to 1 pm to help clean up debris and trash on the lake’s islands and shorelines. Volunteers from Anderson, Campbell, Claiborne, Grainger and Union counties are needed. There will be several different launch sites. Boats will be available to shuttle volunteers to and from the islands. However, volunteers are welcome to bring their own boats and/or kayaks. Volunteers are urged to wear appropriate shoes, bring gloves and a life jacket. Clinch River Fall Antique Festival add to itinerary

The Anderson County Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring the Clinch River Antique Festival in Historic Downtown Clinton. The Festival will start with a "Kick-Off Party" on Friday, October 12th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with live entertainment,delicious food and great shopping with the antique and specialty stores staying open late. On Saturday, October 13th, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., more than 90 antique dealers and artisans will line Market and Cullom Streets. There is free admission and parking. Fall Color Boat Trips add to itinerary

Enjoy the fall colors on Norris Lake by taking a leisurely boat ride with your family, friends and local friendly park ranger. Bring a pair of binoculars to view fall’s colors and wildlife while learning about the area’s history. Boat rides last approximately one hour and depart from the Norris Dam Marina. Rides will take place during the last two weeks of October (call ahead for schedule) and departure times will be 11:00 AM, 12:30 PM, 2:00 PM & 3:30 PM.
