Annual Norris Day July 4th Celebration add to itinerary

The Norris Lions Club brings you the Annual Norris Day celebration in downtown Norris. Running enthusiasts can begin the day with the Firecracker Road Run sponsored by the Norris Recreation Commission. Later the children’s Dog Show will be held on the Norris Commons, followed by the one-mile Fun Run. No one will want to miss the children’s Wheel Race, the Bicycle Parade, the Water Balloon Toss or the Water-Ball Battles. There will be sack races and duck races, too. One of the highlights of Norris Day is the wonderful barbeque dinner--barbeque pork and chicken with all the sides served by the Norris Lions Club in the Norris Middle School cafeteria from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Norris Day will conclude with a fireworks show. July 4th Celebration and Anvil Shoot add to itinerary

July 4th will be celebrated in an unusual, dramatic, and traditional fashion at the Museum of Appalachia with historic anvil shoots. In addition, there will be demonstrations of mountain arts and crafts. Bluegrass, old time and folk music will be played and sung on the porches of the cabins and in the old log church, hymn singing and church services will be conducted. Clinton Fireworks and 4th of July Event add to itinerary

This FREE event will begin at 5pm and end with fireworks at 10pm. Backyard Bouncers will be set up complete with a 68 foot obstacle course, 22 ft 2 lane Tsunami water slide, bungee run, and more. Kids can also participate in a free round of laser tag. There will be food vendors, live entertainment and antique cars to view. Island Invasion Norris Lake Clean-up add to itinerary

The Norris Lake Project Team will be hosting an “Island Invasion” on September 22nd from 9 am to 1 pm to help clean up debris and trash on the lake’s islands and shorelines. Volunteers from Anderson, Campbell, Claiborne, Grainger and Union counties are needed. There will be several different launch sites. Boats will be available to shuttle volunteers to and from the islands. However, volunteers are welcome to bring their own boats and/or kayaks. Volunteers are urged to wear appropriate shoes, bring gloves and a life jacket. Pickin' in the Park at Norris Dam State Park add to itinerary

Join the Friends of Norris Dam State Park for the annual Pickin’ in the Park Concert held the first Friday of October from 5:30 to 9:30 pm. This event is an evening full of bluegrass music, BBQ, local craft vendors, laughter and fun. The event is located at the historic amphitheater and tearoom on the east side of Norris Dam State Park. Clinch River Fall Antique Festival add to itinerary

The Anderson County Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring the Clinch River Antique Festival in Historic Downtown Clinton. The Festival will start with a "Kick-Off Party" on Friday, October 12th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with live entertainment,delicious food and great shopping with the antique and specialty stores staying open late. On Saturday, October 13th, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., more than 90 antique dealers and artisans will line Market and Cullom Streets. There is free admission and parking. Gobble Wobble Hike at Norris Dam State Park add to itinerary

Enjoy a Gobble Wobble Hike at Norris Dam State Park and work off that Thanksgiving meal! Join a park ranger on Friday, November 23rd at 3:00 pm for a 1 mile hike that runs along Norris Lake and circles back through the cabin area. The hike should take about an hour. Hikers should wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of treats for the ranger! Meet at the TVA visitor center at 3:00 pm.
