Chuck Swan Wildlife Management Area

- Situated on a peninsula in the center of beautiful Norris Lake, Chuck Swan Wildlife Management area offers the ultimate outdoor experience. With over 24,000 acres of wilderness and more than 70 miles of trails, outdoor enthusiast can hike, bike, horseback ride, go off-roading, fish or just sit back and enjoy all the many aspects of nature. Chuck Swan WMA also has boat access area and three designated areas for camping in addition to a 55 and 100 yard firing range. Chuck Swan WMA is also a great place to go hunting. The primary big game species on the area is whitetail deer and wild turkey. The whitetail deer harvest for 2008 was approximately 334 animals. The wild turkey harvest for 2008 was approximately 158 birds. There are also cottontail rabbits, raccoons, mourning doves, squirrel and crows.
