- Description:
- Discover John Rice Irwin's 65-acre Appalachian history complex. This open air museum is called "the most authentic and complete replica of pioneer Appalachian life in the world." The museum, which has been featured in several national publications, contains over 250,000 pioneer relics including 30 log structures including a chapel, schoolhouse, cabins and barns. Open daily 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from November to February, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. during March and October, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. during April and September and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from May to August. Allow 1 to 3 hours. Admission Charged.
