Nothing beats long summer days on Norris Lake! Floating in the water with friends, tubing with the kids, fishing in a cove...whatever you want, Norris Lake has! Including our two favorite marinas - Sequoyah and Stardust. The marinas not only have great food, but also offer weekends full of live music, cold beer and a ton of fun!
Sequoyah Marina is home to the famous "Wing Night" at the dock. They serve the best wings and coldest Corona on Norris Lake every Friday night through the summer. Sequoyah is a full service marina offering boat and jet ski rentals, a full restaurant and they even have a banquet room that offers the perfect setting for weddings or other special occasions. So, next time you're on the lake, stop by Sequoyah Marina and be ready to have a good time! If you prefer to get there by land, Sequoyah is located at 336 Lakeview Lane, Andersonville, 37705
Stardust Marina offers live entertainment every Saturday night through the summer, also known as Sundown Saturdays! You will get to enjoy great live music and absolutely delicious food from their restaurant, The Harbour Grill. Stardust is a full service 500 slip marina with covered boat slips, hydrohoists and boat rentals. Put on your dancing shoes, or flip flops rather, and enjoy Sundown Saturdays at Stardust! Some other events to look forward to:
Fire on the Water is held each year at Sequoyah Marina and is the largest firework show on Norris Lake. Hundreds of people come and tie up for the evening to experience the beautiful display of fireworks. This year, the event will be held on July 1st.
A few tips to make Fire on the Water a great experience:
- Plan to go early. The show starts at dusk, but go early to find a great spot.
- Expect a lot of boats. The show brings in hundreds of people, so the area around Sequoyah can get pretty crowded.
- TWRA will be out patrolling, so make sure to follow all boating rules.
- Plan to wait around a little while after the show before leaving. With so many boats leaving the area at once, things can get a little hectic. If you wait for the crowds to disperse, your ride home will be much safer.
Smokin' for a Cause offers a full day of bands, boats and BBQ at Stardust Marina with proceeds going to help families battling pediatric brain cancer in the East Tennessee region. Mark your calendars for July 22nd and plan to have a great time and enjoy some delicious BBQ, all while supporting a good cause.
